I was at the $$$ store the other day purchasing some items for my Sunday School V-Day party when I came across this adorable little place mat. I just loved the pattern but I knew I would never use it on my table.
So of course the wheels start turning, and I am wondering how I can have this adorable piece of fabric in my home, and what I can I do with it?
Ah Ha! A has been wanting an apron of her very own, so, why not? Just a few little stitches and it's done. The hem has already been sewn so this project is Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy!
Gather your place mat, ribbon, pins, needle, and thread (or sewing machine-mine is in need of repair)
Position the ribbon so that it feed through and will be able to tie in the back
Not too bad, she likes it and I only spent 10 minutes on it.
See how it wraps around her neck and ties in the back. Very Simple!
If you have or plan to make one, please share. I would love to see how you do this, or anything you create!

That's so great!! I bought a dishtowel to make an apron for my son, but I haven't made it yet. I may have to follow your instructions! I would also LOVE to feature this on Dollarstorecrafts.com!

so wonderfully simple... and speedy... thanks for sharing this idea :)
This is fabulous!! Thanks so much for sharing :) I was at the Dollar Tree yesterday & picked up a tea towel to do this for my daughter. I didn't see this placemat, but I love it. Did you buy at Dollar Tree or Dollar General? I always love hearing what dollar stores folks go to :)
Thanks again for the great inspiration!
I just challenged all my blog readers to make this! I am going to make mine right now!

Cute, easy & cheap? Sounds like a win/win to me. I love it!!! How come my dollar stores never have such cute towels?
That is so cute!
I'd need a much bigger place mat if I wanted to wear it myself. :)
I LOVE it! Even I could do this...and I don't sew!
I think it would be great to whip up several of these and have them on hand for birthday gifts and things!
Thanks for sharing!
