Relatively Productive

Dirty Dishes
You have no idea! Honey and I were prepping dinner (raw chicken) and tonight I decided to break out the peroxide to cleans.

Oh. My. Gosh.

So filthy!


That's the peroxide working it's magic.

So I decided to spray my sponge...

Holy Cow!!!
My germaphobicness (yes, that is a word) just got a whole lot worse! :)
So, if you have a desire see how many germs are lurking in your kitchen just fill a small spray bottle with peroxide and spray away. You will be surprised (or not) :)
TIP: Make sure you label your spray bottle as peroxide looks just like water. Also, you can dilute it 50/50 and it will still do the job. With a bottle running around $.58 I don't really feel it necessary but it's a suggestion.

Our Favorite Things

How fun is this?! Cindy at My Romantic Home has come up with a fun little something for this weekend. It's funny because my new favorite item was just purchased yesterday morning.
I got this Adorable clock from Michael's. I paid only...... $1.19!!!!!!!! I know! It's awesome! :-)
I just went back tonight and they had TONS of other stuff marked down. Mostly things that are not my style, but I did find two new lamps for each nightstand. I am going to repaint them. I will show you tomorrow. You won't believe how much I paid for those!!! :)

I Spy

With the end of summer approaching (faster than I'd like) the children tend to need some help keeping themselves busy.

I found this great game idea and decided to make it for my guys. They haven't put it down since! (Mommy just loves that)

The game is called "I Spy"

I used an empty water bottle and put 26 random items inside (beads, paperclip, safety pin, foamies, jewels, etc.). I then filled it up with bird seed and shook it up a bit. All of the items were then "lost" inside.

The goal is to see who can find an item the fastest. This is perfect for hot days when they just want to be in Air Conditioning, or for long road trips (or short ones).

I hope you get a chance to make one of these. There are several ways you could play. Be creative, and fun!!!

Back to reality

We have had a whirlwind of activities going on lately. 3 weeks ago the children were away at Nana and Pop-Pop's (for the week), then we headed to N.C. for a week at the beach, then came home and had a Power Lab Blast at VBS!

I. am. tired.
So here we are on Monday. Back to our regular routines. NOT!
First I started a load of laundry, then I emptied the dishwasher, made the children breakfast, Guzzled my cup of coffee (bring on the caffeine baby!), then rinsed dishes, sat girly girl on the potty (potty training begins today), swept the kitchen floor, kissed hubby goodbye, gave girly girl some juicy, Danced and Shouted b/c she pee pee on the potty, gave her a treat, moped the kitchen floor, rolled laundry over, added a new load, striped the beds, (is it 8am yet!?!?), put girly girl back on the potty, read her a "short" book, Danced and Shouted (made more potty), got girly more juice, walked up the stairs, saw hubby come back in, saw hubby covered in HIVES!!!

.....Schrrrch.....

It is now only 9am. (hubby is ok) :) had a reaction to Naproxin...silly man...he is allergic to Alieve...Hello!!!
So at least I managed to get a few thing done today. Also, I have been going back to the gym on a regular, so that helps with my energy level.
I also managed to make a (very delicious) Strawberry Clafoutis. So easy!!! I made a Blueberry one yesterday.

Happy Birthday America!

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?



Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

Some of us take these liberties so much for granted, but we shouldn't.

So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots.

It's not much to ask for the price they paid.Remember: freedom is never free!

It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.
