Furniture Rehab #1

It's been a long time since I have done a "Before & After" to share with you all. This morning I went my local thrift store and found this bench hiding under an ugly bulldog gym bag. It took me three times to walk by it before I realized that the ugly bag was sitting on something.

Now, I have to admit, I would not have even considered this thing if it hadn't been for Kimba's post on her very similar project.

I am so thrilled with the result! I used outdoor fabric as I plan to use it for extra seating in our (in progress) newly decorated backyard. Eeek! I am in Luurve, it's just so yummy!

Anything you all have been working on? Please do share, I love to visit your blog full of creative ideas!! :)

Staycation, All I ever wanted!

Ok, so it's not all I ever wanted. But it's what I'm getting. Every summer we rent a beach house in NC with my husbands family. Grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, cousins and siblings, and all the children in the middle. This year is not the case. Unfortunately some family members "got stuck" with a beach house in FL. So everyone decided to go there instead. We decided not too. It was too much hassle to try to accommodate the trip and we are perfectly, wonderfully, happily, and well, okay, we WILL be happy. As soon as we figure out what we are going to do.

Many ideas have swam through our minds, the typical, fishing, camping, touristing. I want to think of something really cool to do with a 7yr old boy and a 3 yr old girl, plus one very Cute fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants hubby. I just read something today in Country Living. Did you know you can rent a light house for a month! I know!! Now THAT is cool! You do minimal work in the gift shop and around the light house, and have PLENTY of free time to sight-see. The one I saw was only $600 for the month. Hmmm, Now there's a thought... If only the hubs didn't have to WORK for a living!

How many of you are Staycationing and what are your plans? Please share!! I need more ideas! :)

I'm Back!

Well, sorta.

I am swamped due to more scheduled shows. Yay for me! But I'm suffering from BB, "bloggers block". I have thought about several different things I could write about, but would you all really be interested in what I had for breakfast or how many loads of laundry I did for the day? Ya, somehow, I didn't think so. :)

As a way to welcome myself back, I am hosting a great giveaway from a wonderful woman who makes amazing things! Fragrant Offering is giving away one body mist and one lip balm. She makes these all with her very own hands. You can find her Etsy store HERE.

The people at Fragrant Offering create unique bath and body products scented with ancient Biblical essential oils. They use imported Dead Sea salt from Masada,Israel because it has ten times more minerals than regular sea salt.

"The Bible mentions several essential oils that were used for healing, annointing, or just purely for their fragrance. Every item we make has the scripture where it was found, some background for how it was used, and the essential oil information."

For your chance to win just leave a comment telling us what your favorite item is from their store (which you can see HERE or HERE).

Random number generator will pick a winner and then Fragrant Offering will mail you the product. The contest is open until Sunday at 12 midnight. I will announce the winner Monday morning.

You're so excited, I know! I just love her stuff, and I know you will too!
