Preping

 

I finally took down the last of our Christmas decorations, which included our tree. All the beautiful garlands are down, the decorations, the lights, the TREE! :-( The Girl came down stairs wondering why I took her tree away... I tried to explain those silly Waste Management people, not too sure it really got through. But she is very excited to decorate one this December. 

So, now that all of the Christmas stuff is gone, I am diving head first into Valentine decorating. Only within the last two years has this holiday become a favorite of mine. I LOVE the colors and adore the hearts and swirls. The photos in this post are from two tags I made last year. I am just getting my *new* craft room all set up and organized, and am so thrilled to have a space I can create and leave things on my desk if I so choose.

Still Enjoying Christmas

Anybody out there still have their Christmas tree up? Just curious, ya know, just wondering, because I sure don't, er won't, after today. :)

Tomorrow is the last day for tree removal, so down it must come. Till next year I suppose. I really tried to keep it up till July, but for some crazy reason, Waste Management puts restrictions on that... Silly waste management...

Tip of The Day

Saving Eggs!

TIP: After separating eggs for a recipe, pour the remaining egg into an airtight container and freeze. To prevent the eggs from gelling add a pinch of salt for cooking or a heaping teaspoon of sugar for baking for every 4 yolks. Transfer the frozen egg to the refrigerator the day before using and let the egg parts thaw overnight.

When I discovered this trick, I was so thrilled. My "world" famous cake calls for four egg whites and I was always stumped on how to save the yolks. I hated throwing them out. Hope this tip is useful for you. Enjoy!! :-)
