Gingham Love!

What says summer beauty better than Gingham? Well, ok, there a lot of other things that say summer beauty, but I just love the look of gingham this summer. Enjoy the eye candy while I work on a few projects. I hope to have them done soon. Between watching my 2yr old niece this week and running my oldest to VBS, I am hoping to have at least ONE project done. :) This week is kinda crazy...

Enjoy the eye candy until I can return.

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July! I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Holiday Celebration. Our day will be filled with swimming, eating, parade watching and a firework nightcap!

We haven't gone to see fireworks in 3 yrs. This will be my daughters 1st time and I can't wait to see her reaction! :)

It's a surprise and my 7yr old has no idea. I can't wait to see the smile on their faces!

All week we have been reading books and relearning history. I am thankful for this holiday weekend that I can spend time with family, relax, and enjoy the gorgeous weather we have been Blessed with!

Happy 4th to all! Enjoy it!!

Transformation #2

I don't normally double post but I will be out tomorrow due to surgery and may not be able to post any time soon. I wanted to leave you with a fun idea that could be done when you have that extra time from the Holiday weekend.

While shopping my favorite thrift store a few weeks ago, I came across this metal lunch pail. I had no idea what I would do with it just yet, but at $.80, I just couldn't pass it up.

Yesterday a thought struck me. I was in need of a new pot for my flowers but didn't want to spend the $$$ on one. Then I remembered my lunch pail! I just hammered a few drainage holes in the bottom and filled 'er up! A nice little touch I think. I can't wait for it to get a gorgeous weathered patina! (aka rusty!) :)

What do you have lying around that can be repurposed? Please share!! This blog lives for your comments! :-)

Repurposing an old frame

I found this cute-ish picture frame at the thrift store a few months ago and spray painted the frame black. For a while it just held the "art" it came with. It kind of went with my country motif so it worked for a little while. BUT, I have been so antsy to change some decor. I wanted to think of ways to do that WITHOUT spending any money.

Yesterday afternoon (during that blissful hour known as "NAP TIME") I grabbed some items out of my craft room and started re-purposing that old frame!

I love it! And it was so quick and easy to do. I changed out the nest because I think the original one I picked was a little too big.

What have YOU re-purposed recently? I wanna know!! :)

Furniture Rehab #1

It's been a long time since I have done a "Before & After" to share with you all. This morning I went my local thrift store and found this bench hiding under an ugly bulldog gym bag. It took me three times to walk by it before I realized that the ugly bag was sitting on something.

Now, I have to admit, I would not have even considered this thing if it hadn't been for Kimba's post on her very similar project.

I am so thrilled with the result! I used outdoor fabric as I plan to use it for extra seating in our (in progress) newly decorated backyard. Eeek! I am in Luurve, it's just so yummy!

Anything you all have been working on? Please do share, I love to visit your blog full of creative ideas!! :)
